Our Mission is to publish books that create positive, uplifting and relatable content for People Of Color. As a publishing company, we want to redirect the portrayals of our cultures by making sure that we are properly representing, teaching, and communicating effectively to our Black Kings and Queens. We publish content that focuses on the wellness of our people by providing books that reflect our cultures, experiences, and our divine purposes. Through one book at a time, we will change the trajectory of how we see ourselves, and how we allow the industries to maximize our images, and cultural values.

Our Founder
Natasia Stukes is a educated black mother who graduated with her bachelors degree from University at Albany. She is a writer, a dancer, and dedicates her time to learning about adulthood, children media, breaking Generational curses, and properly impacting others around her. Her impact as a Mother, Graduate, and strong woman reinforces the need to provide positive and cultural change not only for black women, mothers, and children but throughout the society as a whole.

As a student throughout college, I was always asked what my purpose was. What could I do to change the world, better my community, and make money doing so. And for a very long time, I didn’t have the answer to that question. As I started dabbling into courses, children’s media, poetry, and other forms of art, I realized that African Americans didn’t have much positive platforms in the media. Most kid shows were not represented by the black culture, there were few platforms that were relatable to the things we were going through, and the things we were represented on were negatively portrayed- via sexual, ratchet, aggressive, and/or explicit. Being the small percentage of African American in my class, I felt outraged. But I Knew I had to do something. Something that would better the lives of my people, Something that would help us heal and break generational curses, something that would create positive platforms for us to express, and create. In thinking about how I was going to change the world, I decided to write a book that was going to elevate woman across the world, and teach young ladies to love theirselves no matter what. Many years later I decided that I wasn’t going to go through a traditional publishing site where I would lose all my creative power, and have other people be able to control and profit over my message. So I decided to create my own. DOPE Publishing was founded in 2022.
